Get Smart about Urban Meyer’s Ohio State Spread

One of the best recent developments in the blogosphere has been the addition of my friend Ross Fulton to what was already one of the best blogs around, the Ohio State site Eleven Warriors. Ross has been a perfect fit, not least of all because he’s got great material to analyze in the form of Urban Meyer’s offense (along with offensive coordinator Tom Herman) are installing at Ohio State. Check out the links below for a learned preview of what we can expect from the Buckeye offense this fall.

How does Urban Meyer’s offense differ from Gus Malzahn?

Im primarily an NFL fan, discovered Smartfootball years ago, so most of the articles were interesting but I never actually paid attention on Saturdays. This offseason, I’ve been watching old 2013 NCAA games, to see Art Briles baylor offense, and some other games I knew were good. Urban Meyers OSU and Malzahn’s Auburn for me, is the most fun offense to watch. 230 yards of Rushing offense is just a wonderful thing to see. The NFL’s real game is all downfield, usually off camera. But a game with 400 yards of rushing offense, with a rewind button you can really see the game within the game unfolding, up front, with Power, Zone blocking and the best part of football, broken tackles.
