The coaches were not hamming it up for the reporter, that’s the kind of atmosphere that Carroll has created. I remember an article from awhile back about going up help kids in the hood and breaking down in tears hearing their stories, etc. Carroll is a bit frenetic as a person and he’s been allowed to let that personality trait grow wild at USC. He let’s people live it up as long as they deliver results, which of course they do usually.

Carrolls loose as a goose nature vs Tressels high school sweater vest style carries over to their respective teams.

Hence USC drove 90+ yards with a rookie QB on the road late in the game and OSU turned into another head case with an overrated Rivals.com paper QB.
